REAL MADRID are still determined to axe Karim Benzema unless he dazzles in the Champions League final.
Karim Benzema scored twice against Real Madrid last night
The Frenchman has struggled all season and has bagged just five league goals.
However, he was instrumental in Los Blancos booking their place in the Kiev showpiece.
The 30-year-old scored a brace to rescue a 2-2 draw against Bayern Munich.
The result meant Real progressed through to the final 4-3 on aggregate.
However, according to Spanish media outlet Don Balon, Benzema’s heroics won’t save him from the chop.
It’s suggested only a stunning performance in the final will save him from being sold.
Despite the reports, Zinedine Zidane claimed earlier this week that Benzema - and Gareth Bale - are staying put.
“We need them and I’ll do everything possible so that they’re not affected by what’s been said outside. They’ll stay with us,” Zidane said.
“The message is for everyone, not just Bale and Benzema, that we’re sticking together because there’s a month left of the season and we have it all to do.
“If any player isn’t 100 percent, he won’t be in the squad.”
“I know all our players want to play, but it isn’t possible.
